South AfricaAfrican landscapeThe enormity of the South African hunting grounds is why this country is the most popular hunting destination in Africa. Over half of all annual profits from hunting (around $200 million) is accrued here. The truth, though, is that this area is prime for hunting the Big 5. Elephants and rhinos are large in number here, with 70 pound tuskers available. As for lions, well, they exist in South Africa, of course, but many of them are bred solely for the purpose of being hunted and are not wild. They’re also ridiculously expensive to hunt.
